The SGV Academy delivered a series of industry-focused learning sessions at Mapúa University and the University of Cebu, in line with its commitment to bridging academic learning with real-world business and technology applications.At Mapúa University – College of Business and Accountancy, the SGV Academy conducted three sessions. The Managerial Accounting for Business Decision-Making session was facilitated by SGV Business Consulting Senior Director Mark Andrew Chiu, Director James Robert Aguila, Associate Director Giecelle Magnaye, Senior Associate Ken Aaron Randell Navarro, and Associates Justin Reiner Santiago and Sophia Elena Sabado.The Financial Statement Analysis & Interpretation session was led by Assurance Growth Areas, Assurance Solutions and Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) Leader Aris C. The session focused on enhancing students’ ability to analyze financial information, interpret key performance indicators, and apply insights to informed decision-making.The SGV Academy also conducted a session on Fundamentals of Forensic Accounting & Fraud Detection, covering essential topics such as the basics of forensic accounting, common types of accounting fraud, the role of internal controls in preventing fraud, digital forensic accounting and cyber fraud prevention, as well as legal and ethical considerations in fraud investigations. The session was led by Forensic & Integrity Services (FIS) Senior Manager Dennis Antonio and Senior Associate Bernard Hermida.At the University of Cebu, the SGV Academy held a comprehensive session on financial instruments, risk management, and applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). The session was facilitated by Financial Services Leader and Ecosystem and Knowledge Head Christian G. Lauron, Technology Consulting Senior Director Anderson Bondoc, and Manager Elijah Jesus T. Puaben. The team also showcased an AI Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) voice bot capable of natural, dialect-based conversations, along with advanced solutions on API Management and Anomaly Detection.Through these sessions, the SGV Academy continues to equip students with practical, analytical, and technology-driven skills, preparing future professionals for the evolving business landscape.
The SGV Knowledge Institute together with SGV Clark and SGV Consulting - Supply Chain and Operations (SC&O) hosted a half-day executive event, with the theme “Future of Supply Chain: An Executive Session,” on 3 December 2025 at the SGV Clark office. SGV officially signed a contract with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to provide consulting services for the Preparation of the Updated Master Development Plan of Bonifacio Global City (BGC). The ceremonial contract signing was held on 15 January 2026 at the BCDA Office in BGC.The project focuses on preparing an updated Master Development Plan for BGC that reflects current conditions, evolving market trends, and planned infrastructure developments. Under this engagement, SGV serves as lead consultant, overseeing the overall project management and delivery in collaboration with specialist consultants covering the planning and technical, legal, and real estate components.The ceremonial program opened with welcome remarks from BCDA Conversion Development Group Officer-in-Charge and Senior Vice President Engr. SGV Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) Senior Manager Crystal Aleli R. Cornell served as one of the speakers during the 27th Ayala Group Internal Auditors' Network (AGIAN) Conference on “Sustainability and ESG Auditing: Beyond Compliance.” The event was held on 21 November 2025 at The Blue Leaf Events Pavilion in Taguig City. Crystal shared insights on how internal audit can move beyond compliance to drive long-term value by enhancing the credibility of sustainability reporting and supporting companies in integrating ESG into their overall strategy Crystal also discussed the current sustainability landscape, including developments in internal control guidance and assurance standards related to sustainability reporting, as well as relevant sustainability issues. She noted that internal audit can play a critical role in sustainability and serve as a strategic partner with the organization's sustainability programs. Leveraging their expertise in risk management and assurance, internal audit teams can contribute significantly to integrating sustainability-related risks into the organization's enterprise risk management framework and to enhancing the reliability of sustainability reporting disclosures through rigorous reviews of processes, controls, and data—similar to the approach applied to financial statements.

Villacorte and Sustainability Principal Bonar A. Laureto, joined the EY House sessions held alongside COP30 in Belém, Brazil. The venue hosted a series of discussions and collaborative events aligned with the COP30 Action Agenda and focused on advancing sustainability, climate action, and innovation.Throughout the sessions, SGV engaged with global experts, policymakers, and industry leaders exploring how business can drive measurable progress in climate and nature outcomes. Topics included sustainable economic transformation, biodiversity protection, climate finance, technology-enabled climate solutions, resilient communities, and the evolving role of carbon markets.A notable highlight from the event was the announcement that the EY House in Belém, which served as a multisectoral space for strategic debates during COP30, will be donated to the Secretary of Indigenous Peoples of Pará (Sepi) after the conference. SGV & Co. joined Alternergy Holdings Corporation at the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) bell ringing ceremony on 21 November 2025 to mark the company’s milestone as the first publicly listed company and first renewable energy developer to receive the Philippine Green Equity Label from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).SGV Assurance Group 4 Leader Veronica R. Laureto joined the 30th annual UN climate conference (COP30) held from 10 to 21 November 2025 at Belém, Brazil. Benjamin hosted and moderated the COP30 side event, “Unlocking Shared Investments in Nature,” at the ASEAN Pavilion. The session brought together key Philippine government and private-sector representatives to present a unified approach to scalable, bankable, and high-integrity nature solutions.The discussion opened with Climate Change Commission Chair and Secretary Robert Borje framing COP30 as a “Delivery COP” and emphasizing fast-tracked access to climate finance. House Committee on Sustainable Development Goals Chair Representative Joeman Alba shared legislative measures creating demand, clarifying carbon rights, and strengthening the domestic carbon market. House Committee on Climate Change Chair Representative Aniela Tolentino highlighted opportunities in blue and green carbon, while Representative Rufus Rodriguez showcased the finance-first Cagayan de Oro model as a proof of concept. Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) ASec. Noralene Uy outlined the forthcoming Carbon Forestry framework to ensure regulatory integrity, and Bonar presented financial tools, including the Nature Finance Compass and revenue stacking, that make nature projects investment-ready.Rep.
