The SGV Academy delivered a series of industry-focused learning sessions at Mapúa University and the University of Cebu, in line with its commitment to bridging academic learning with real-world business and technology applications.
At Mapúa University – College of Business and Accountancy, the SGV Academy conducted three sessions. The Managerial Accounting for Business Decision-Making session was facilitated by SGV Business Consulting Senior Director Mark Andrew Chiu, Director James Robert Aguila, Associate Director Giecelle Magnaye, Senior Associate Ken Aaron Randell Navarro, and Associates Justin Reiner Santiago and Sophia Elena Sabado.
The Financial Statement Analysis & Interpretation session was led by Assurance Growth Areas, Assurance Solutions and Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) Leader Aris C. Malantic, supported by FAAS Senior Manager Dwayne Ignacio. The session focused on enhancing students’ ability to analyze financial information, interpret key performance indicators, and apply insights to informed decision-making.
The SGV Academy also conducted a session on Fundamentals of Forensic Accounting & Fraud Detection, covering essential topics such as the basics of forensic accounting, common types of accounting fraud, the role of internal controls in preventing fraud, digital forensic accounting and cyber fraud prevention, as well as legal and ethical considerations in fraud investigations. The session was led by Forensic & Integrity Services (FIS) Senior Manager Dennis Antonio and Senior Associate Bernard Hermida.
At the University of Cebu, the SGV Academy held a comprehensive session on financial instruments, risk management, and applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). The session was facilitated by Financial Services Leader and Ecosystem and Knowledge Head Christian G. Lauron, Technology Consulting Senior Director Anderson Bondoc, and Manager Elijah Jesus T. Puaben. The team also showcased an AI Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) voice bot capable of natural, dialect-based conversations, along with advanced solutions on API Management and Anomaly Detection.

Through these sessions, the SGV Academy continues to equip students with practical, analytical, and technology-driven skills, preparing future professionals for the evolving business landscape.
