On 30 October, International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) Chair Emmanuel Faber announced the expansion of the Jurisdictional Working Group to enable multilateral discussions on using ISSB Standards as “a global passport” for sustainability reporting. For jurisdictions that have adopted or that plan to adopt sustainability reporting requirements aligned with the ISSB’s model standards, this “passporting” approach would encourage jurisdictions to accept reports prepared “in accordance with” the ISSB’s standards, “accommodating jurisdiction-specific conditions as needed.”

On 30 September, the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative, in partnership with the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), published model guidance for stock exchanges on naturerelated financial disclosures. The model guidance offers stock exchanges a practical framework to help issuers disclose nature-related issues, aligning with growing investor demand for transparency on environmental dependencies, risks and opportunities.

On 14 August, the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) published two new resources to facilitate the adoption and implementation of the International Standard on Sustainability Assurance (ISSA) 5000, set to take effect in December 2026. The first resource includes extracts from ISSA 5000 specifically for limited and reasonable assurance engagements, aiding stakeholders in identifying relevant requirements. T
