SGV holds Sustainability Training Series on ISSB-aligned reporting

SGV conducted a three-day face-to-face event, “Sustainability Training Series: Gearing up for ISSB Standards Sustainability Reporting in Practice,” from 27 to 29 January 2026 at the SGV Training Rooms in Makati.

The program aligns with the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Memorandum Circular (MC) 16, Series of 2025, on the adoption of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) for sustainability disclosures. Each session focused on a core topic: IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards Reporting Essentials, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Accounting and Reporting Fundamentals, and Foundations of Climate Risk Assessment for Disclosure and Risk Management.

SGV Assurance Leader Cyril Jasmin B. Valencia opened the event with a message highlighting the growing importance of sustainability reporting in business operations. Subject matter sessions were led by SGV Sustainability Leader Benjamin N. Villacorte, Sustainability Partner Katrina F. Francisco, and Sustainability Principal Bonar A. Laureto.

Sustainability Managers Crystal Aleli R. Cornell, Diana Rose Sadili-Chu, Joyce Anne A. Soriano, Jouelle N. Nerveza-Sumile, Zoe Aurora H. Romero, Jamaica N. Pangasinan, Louie Adrianne R. Cediño, Christopher S. Villar, and Randolph C. Camaclang facilitated technical discussions and workshops.

Across the three days, participants engaged in hands-on breakout sessions covering the identification, classification, and calculation of GHG emissions, as well as the recognition of climate risks across the company value chain.

Due to strong interest, another batch of the Sustainability Training Series is scheduled for 17 to 19 March 2026.
